Jackets Lose Home Baseball Opener

The 2016 Fairview Yellow Jackets baseball team opened the season Tuesday night against the reigning regular season district champion, Creek Wood Redhawks. The first game of the season did not go as planned as the Red Hawks defeated the Yellow Jackets 10-4. Stephen Bledsoe (0-1), junior, took the loss for Fairview on the mound. Seniors Ben Buttrey and Harry Sanborn led the hitting attack for Fairview. Buttrey went 2-4 with 2 RBIs and 1 run scored. Sanborn went 3-4 with 2 runs scored and a stolen base. Bledsoe added a triple and RBI to assist on offense. Nick Hester, junior, added an RBI for Fairview. The Yellow Jackets look to bounce back Thursday as they take on cross-county rival Page in the 1st annual Battle of 840 Baseball Edition.
